In this painting I created a playful yet powerful female figure that gives a subtle nod to historical military uniforms and authority. With her large hat, golden details and jacket she almost seems to step out of another era, while her attitude and presence feel completely modern.

I enjoy combining contrasts: elegance with power; history with contemporary feminity. The glass of wine and her relaxed posture give the painting a light and slightly mischievous atmosphere, as if Napolina knows exactly who she is and enjoys it.

The gold elements capture the light and give the artwork a rich presence, while the deep green background adds strength and depth to the composition.
